Kristina Karmazínová

Kristina Karmazínová (*1977, Znojmo) graduated from the Václav Hollar High School of Arts in Prague and subsequently continued her studies at the Theater Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts, where she studied scenography. Both of these environments shaped her artistic language, in which drawing precision meets strong visual imagery.

In her work, she focuses on the themes of the inner world, silence, nature and the transience of the moment. Her favorite technique is pastel, which allows her to express subtle color transitions, fragile structures and emotional undertones. In pastel, she finds the ideal tool for expressing a delicate balance between the concrete and the dreamlike.

Kristina’s paintings and drawings seem introspective, often telling ambiguous stories – they suggest rather than explain. At the same time, they are visually accessible and sensitively composed. Kristina Karmázínová’s work appeals to viewers precisely with its ability to stop time and open space for silent perception.
